I was so tired of this happening. My old computer never did this. I finally came across an updated driver for the Centrino Wireless n When you log onto the site it says that! This driver is not designed for you computer! I tried updating my Realtek on-board NIC the same way. I had a new WIN 7 laptop that was continually losing its wireless connection to the internet.

The fix was going into the power settings and disabling the power saving feature of the Atheros WiFi adaptor. I had this problem. Kept tellling me is was connection to router, moden, connection or gateway not avail. After a several attempts at following everyones receommendations to no avail. I quit. Then I read about AD-Blockers.. So I downloaded the top 3 ad blockers and all my problems were solved.

Since then I have not had any problems. This was the fix and since then I have not lost connection one time. Just my opinion. But certainly worth the try. I am facing the same problem from some days. Appreciate for your solutions in this forum. How Did u do? Email me please -.

I found my old comment, over a year ago, about this not being solved. Firewalls disabled, virus checkers turned off, no spyware, all updates, etc. Never had a problem like this with Windows XP, , 98, or I have to say I hate Windows 7. This fix did not work. I still lose connection often when going from one site to another or lose connection when playing yahoo games. I have looked and tried everything recommended fix I can find concerning this problem in windows 7 IE9 and as far as I know at this writing there is none, nutta , no fix.

My system is 5 months old and I personally believe it is the in programing of this system and it should be a microsoft or Dell fix. I made this change about 2 weeks ago. Thanks again… Bob. Hi to all! Remember this steps are unusefull for this! I think this problem is not fixable! Only if someone resolve this problem without buying another network card, please to record the video with this problem and fixing it!!

The problem is fixed. How can i fix this problem? I had the same problem with only one solution. Shrink WindBlows partition and install Kubuntu in the unallocated space. Use Kubuntu instead of Win8 No problem with Linux. Problem solved. All of you are wrong. You got a virus from either a porn site or k-lite codec pack, which you downloaded to watch porn. It installs a script file that runs when your system goes idle. It reconfigures your home network and locks you out. You can terminate it, but it comes right back on.

Click on it to go to the file containing the process, then back out to the folder. With both, the folder and task manager on screen, quickly end the process then delete the folder. Delete, hit F3 to find next, delete, keep going until end.

I have tried for 2 years to fix this intermittent internet connection. Deactivated screen saver powering down, etc. I have not lost a connection in 3 whole days! I spoke too soon. Replacing the AVG antivirus with the Avast gave me a perfect, non stop internet service for 3 days, then it started failing again. Why is it, every time we make a change with any of the suggestions above, it DOES work for a few days, then goes back to losing connection?

Well, I just tried your suggestion, Sido, we will see…. I had this problem for the last three months and used all fixes listed here with no luck. I finally found what the problem was. One of the drivers in your network adaptor card begins to go bad and it sends a signal tells it to go to sleep to save power.

Follow these directions below. The Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power setting controls how the network card is handled when the computer enters sleep and can be used if a driver misrepresents how it handles sleep states. Windows never turns off the network card due to inactivity. When this setting is checked enabled , Windows puts the network card to sleep and when it resumes it puts it back to D0.

When this setting is not checked disabled , Windows completely halts the device and on resume reinitializes it. You can use Device Manager to change the power management settings for a network adapter.

To disable this setting in Device Manager, expand Network Adapters, right-click the adapter, click Properties, click the Power Management tab, and then clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.

In Windows 7 or Windows Server R2, you have two additional check boxes on the Power Management tab for the Network Adapter that defines whether this device can wake the computer: After you check card and click ok , back out by closing all that you opened, then you must reboot. Hope this solves your problem! Hi Wolfshead Thanks for this fix ,it worked for me. This problem was really causing headache for me for the last one year. I have tried so many number of solutions available in the Internet including multiple winsock resetting which has helped me for short time.

This solution is perfect and has worked straight away. I think this will only work with the intermittent network connection where the network shows connected to the Internet but could not load any website in the browser.

Thanks for posting this fix. A simple disable and enable the network driver worked for me. Try opening another tab in the browser and navigate to the frozen webpage again. Hi Fixed this after doing these changes not sure which did the trick — ensure hybrid sleep is NOT enabled in your power profile advanced settings — execute this command to reset the tcpip stack in an administrator cmd window : — — netsh int ip reset.

I thought it fixed it. Just want to thank you for this fix. I had been plagued by the problem for some time and was so glad to find a solution. Go to driver tab and click on Uninstall. This removes the driver for the respective device selected. To install the downloaded driver, double click on the setup file. This should initiate the installation. Once the installation completes, test by putting your computer to sleep mode.

See if the internet issue goes away after this. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. Intermitantly but often I lose my internet connection when coming out of sleep mode. This started after I upgraded to windows 7 from vista.

I have tried many adjustments and also given Microsoft tech support remote control to try to fix problem. So far I usually have to restart computer to get internet connection.

Any ideas how to fix? This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question 8. Report abuse.
